The Biennial Environmental Art Festival Seminaria Sogninterra is coming back to Maranola, a medieval village gazing at Gaeta gulf. Among all alleis, towers, public and private spaces, in one kilometer expositive itinerary, 12 artists coming from all parts of Italy and abroad, will harmonize on social and geographic variables of the country.
This year theme is 1:1 scale, indicating the relationship between artwork and reality, as the a necessity of an at par dialogue, to get back the space with real size installations to create livable environments where audience can be immersed in and get involved with the body of the artwork, completing its sense.
The art directors Isabella Indolfi and Marianna Fazzi invited the artists Emanuela Ascari (Maranello, Italy), Laura Cionci (Milan, Italy), Alexandra Dementieva (Brussels, Belgium), Davide Dormino (Rome, Italy), Anna Frants (New York, USA), Alexei Kostroma (Berlin, Germany) Giacomo Lion (Rome, Italy), Aurora Meccanica (Turin, Italy), Gino Sabatini Odoardi (Pescara, Italy), Stalker (Rome, Italy), Saverio Todaro (Turin, Italy), Delphine Valli (Rome, Italy), in dialogue with the village through site specific videos, sculptures, installations, multimedia, relational or performative works.
Citizens and volunteers will do the rest by adopting artists and offering their houses to the audience; their involvement is actually the leading key that will help this independent Biennial Festival to take art outside museums and galleries and address it to people's life, believing that a shared participation and a free distribution could supply an alternative pattern to economic, cultural and social development of territory.
This Festival has been included in Lazio Creativo 2016 as one of the 10 most interesting art projects of Regione Lazio. Seminaria will be supported by two International important partnerships: Fondazione Romaeuropa, author of the most important italian festival for the promotion and diffusion of art, theatre, dancing and contemporary music; and Cyland Media Art Lab from St.Petersburg, a huge digital art event held in Russia every year.
Beside that, Seminaria enlarges his network together with MAP – Agro Pontino Museum of Pontinia (LT) and cooperates with Esperimenti, an Electronic Music Festival in Gaeta, Bertolt Brecht Theatre in Formia and Pinacoteca d’Arte Contemporanea in Gaeta.
