AMUSEMENT
Amusement was founded in 2019 as a collection of individuals with strong generative intent in the arts. Amusement can be defined as a fluid that is shaped by the personalities that compose it and is characterized by the constant search not to maintain a single and delineated path, but with the intent to modulate in personnel, techniques and concept according to the proposed projects. From its inception to the present, Amusement has remained quiescent, leaving room for the various components to embark on different paths of training and personal research, which in August 2022 came together to arrive at its current form.

FLAMES
How important is the past for imagining and building the future?
Sometimes looking forward involves looking backward for inspiration and a
level of quality and depth that can be applied using modern tools.
This is an approach in which the past is not only the foundation on which to base
the creative process, but a source for discovering new ways.
What are the elements you would like to work on further?
Given the changing nature of the collective, it is not easy to define the elements that will constitute Amusement’s artistic future. However, there are two basic principles that we intend to promote and continue to work on: creating connections between people and establishing a common stream of dialogue based on transmediality. This will allow us to develop crosswise through various themes and is a good part of our work in the future.
Tell us more about the work for Seminaria.
In the image of fire and flame there is a co-presence of extremely dense components that are complicated to untangle. Among these, one of the clearest and most visible is that which has fascinated human beings since the earliest forms of domestication some 125,000 years ago, as an identifying factor of collectivity and as an emancipatory element. Human beings coexist with fire, enjoying both its wonderful fortunes and suffering its uncontrollable destruction that it is capable
of unleashing. From this fascination comes the motive for Flames. In a moment when we saw the red sky and had our vision blurred by smoke, the first desire was to take the camera and get as close as possible.
A project that you have not been able to do, but would like to do?
Our project, Amusement, represents a work in continuous development for us.
Like an organism, it needs attunement and care. The goal, not yet realized, is always in potential. The pillar on which it is based is the need not to start from preconceptions, whether they concern media, people involved, and narrative and technical directions.
Can art, in your view, be an instrument of education and a means of awakening consciences?
In our vision and experience, being part of stimulating and creative environments changes the way we undertake our education and consequently changes how we think and who we are. We firmly believe that expressing ourselves through art is a means of “building” spaces and environments in which those involved can experience the world around them by fostering
understanding of environmental, political or social issues. By creating our own visualization of the issue, even if in a partial way, we seek to provoke reasoning in the viewer that can build a space for dialogue and reflection.
